The Law

In British Columbia, Canada, persons under the age of 19 are considered minors and are prohibited from purchasing, consuming, and being in possession of alcohol. Minors are not permitted inside any government or private liquor store.

Parents or guardians of minors are permitted to serve alcohol to their minor child or spouse; however, both parent/guardian and minor must be in their own private residence.

Minors caught in possession of alcohol, in the act of trying to purchase liquor, inside a bar or pub, or in the act of trying to buy liquor using false ID, can be issued a $230 fine.

How do I access my course materials?

You will complete your minor-in-possession program entirely online. Once you have enrolled in your course, you will be able to access our class from a computer, laptop, or mobile device. All that's required is an Internet connection.

Am I allowed to take a break and change computers at any time?

Absolutely! We have developed our online MIP classes to be convenient and user-friendly. Start and stop as often as you like; there's no limit!

How will I receive my Certificate of Completion?

How much time is usually required to complete the MIP class?

You have to take two factors into account when trying to answer this question: which course are you enrolled in and how quickly do you plan on tackling the program? An 8-hour course can take 8 hours to complete or two weeks. Because you can log in and out whenever you want, you set the pace.

I did not pass the final exam for my MIP class. Now what?

Simply retake it! If you fail the final exam, you can retake it as many times as is needed to pass. It really is that easy! A passing grade is 80 percent or higher.
